System and Policies
AfP Nepal believes in collective leadership that is capable of continually renewing itself, facing organizational change in a proactive way, and holding the organization to high standards of conduct. It has a separate governing board led by President and a Director for programme implementation and each have defined roles and responsibilities. Active recruitment of prominent representatives with appropriate skill of important sectors sets to replace existing or departing board members. AfP Nepal’s executive board members serve for specified terms and represent diverse sectors in the governance of the organization. Similarly, the General Assembly provides policy level support, approves plans and expenditures and forms Executive Committee. The Executive Committee governs and guides organization, programme and finance. It is also responsible for fundraising, purchasing, and recruitment. The Director provides leadership to the management of the organization and handles day to day operation. AfP Nepal also has an Advisory Board to provide technical and advisory support as and when required. The Program Manager under the guidance of Director is responsible for proper and timely implementation of activities.
AfP Nepal has developed administrative and financial systems and guidelines to guide day-to-day operation of the organization. AfP Nepal sees these systems and guidelines as living documents, and feels the need to review and update them to adapt to the changing situations. Similarly, new policies and systems are being developed as necessary. AfP Nepal has mandatory regular meetings to encourage staffs of all rank to engage in thinking of better performances of the organization and to raise their concerns if they have any. General staff meetings are organized once a week followed by regular inter- and intra-departmental meetings. To increase efficiency in our performance and for the purpose of streamlining the working procedures, we have divided ourselves into five thematic departments guided by the spirit of our vision, mission, goal and objectives.
