Current Activities
AfP Nepal is a non-profit and non-governmental independent organization working for a peaceful and democratic Nepal. It is a pioneer organization working on political party reforms through democratization of student and youth wings of political parties in Nepal. Our thematic areas of work includes democracy strengthening, human rights, peace building and conflict transformation with gender mainstreaming, social inclusion and conflict sensitive approach as cross-cutting issues. Established in 2002, AfP Nepal, now, consists of dedicated professionals, students and youth from the areas of its intervention.
This Strategic Framework and Operational Plan (2009 – 2013) is an outcome of years-long process within and outside the AfP Nepal. This document will guide overall functioning and institutional focus in the next five years. The main aim of strategic planning exercise was to assist AfP Nepal to reflect on its mission and objectives and to guide AfP Nepal to develop a strategy for the next five years. More specifically, the strategic planning of AfP Nepal has helped to:
- Identify and analyze major political, socio-cultural, economic and structural challenges confronting AfP Nepal to develop an understanding of strategic issues facing the youth of Nepal;
- Analyze and identify AfP Nepal’s strengths and weaknesses to effectively cope with present environment, successfully mitigating its weaknesses and capitalize on the identified opportunities;
- Revisit and discuss internal and external environment, product and services and resource capacities of AfP Nepal to identify ways to take the organisation towards its mission, ensuring its sustainability; and
- Develop five year strategic plan through participatory approach and promote its ownership within the organization and the local partners
