Whom and What AFP Nepal Serves
Participants in AfP Nepal’s activities are primarily youth affiliated with the political parties – these being the student unions and youth wings, rural and marginalized youth, conflict affected youth, civil society organization and the community youth service organizations.
Knowledge management and dissemination
Knowledge management is identified as a useful function carried out by the projects dedicated towards the youth. This could include creating a resource centre, conducting research as well as disseminating print and electronic publications. AfP Nepal will also coordinate meetings and workshops for youth fostering exchange of ideas and lessons and help to create partnerships.
Policy analysis and development
There is lack of consensus on what the key youth policy issues are, as policy activities addressing youth are both limited in number and often in scale. Additionally, Youth’s policy work has found a gap between creating national policies and promoting their implementation. AfP Nepal will also be tasked with identifying and sharing key national and international policy issues with other organizations as well as providing technical assistance on youth policies at national or regional level.
Promotion of life-skill
Through the promotion of life skill education, AfP Nepal continues to empower youth to maximize their effectiveness in our society. AfP Nepal can be a powerful catalyst that connects valuable information to individuals who need it the most. Through the life changing programs that synergistically integrate leadership and management, social skills, team work, self-discipline, healthy life choices, stress management, problem solving, critical thinking, learning to learn, communication, conflict resolution, accepting differences, cooperation, planning, decision making, statesmanship, self-esteem goal achievement strategies, technology, and other educational life skills to help youth succeed.
